# Terms of Use for ChordMuse Flow

_Last updated: 16 October 2026_

Welcome to **ChordMuse Flow** ("the App"), including its AUv3 plugin. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the App on iPhone, iPad and Mac, operated by Webfascia Digital Solutions ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using ChordMuse Flow, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

The App is licensed to you under Apple's [Licensed Application End User License Agreement](https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) (the "Standard EULA"). These Terms add to the Standard EULA; if they conflict, these Terms apply to the extent the law allows.

---

## 1. Your ChordMuse Account

- You can use the offline features (the generator, sounds, effects, MIDI export and the plugin) without an account.
- The AI features and the Plus and Pro plans need a free **ChordMuse account**. It's the same account as ChordMuse on the web.
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account.
- You must give accurate information and must not create accounts to get around the limits of a plan.

---

## 2. Use of the App

- You may use the App for **personal and commercial music-making**.
- You agree not to:
  - Reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the App itself.
  - Redistribute the bundled sounds as standalone samples or sound libraries.
  - Use automated means to send requests to the AI, or use the App in a way that disrupts the service for others.
  - Use the AI to create unlawful, harmful or infringing content.

---

## 3. What You Create

- The chord progressions, songs, MIDI and audio you make with the App are **yours to use**, including in commercial releases, without royalty payments to us.
- Chord progressions are common building blocks of music. Others, including other users of the AI, may arrive at the same or similar progressions, and we can't give you exclusive rights in them.
- You retain ownership of your projects and of anything you write in the App.

---

## 4. AI-Generated Content

- The AI suggests chords, songs and explanations. Suggestions can be wrong, and the same request can give different results.
- You decide what to use, and you are responsible for how you use it.
- Your messages are processed by a third-party AI model to produce replies, as described in the [Privacy Policy](https://www.chordmuse.app/flow-privacy-policy).

---

## 5. Plans and Subscriptions

- **Free** (with a ChordMuse account): chord progressions and 20 AI messages a day.
- **Plus**: full songs, 10 full songs from the AI a day, and 200 AI messages a day.
- **Pro**: full songs, unlimited full songs from the AI, the Deep AI model and significantly higher limits.
- Plus and Pro are **auto-renewable subscriptions**, monthly or yearly, bought through the Apple App Store and charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription **renews automatically** for the same period and price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- **Manage or cancel** your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan continues until the end of the period you've paid for.
- **Refunds** are handled by Apple under its policies. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
- **One subscription works everywhere**: your plan applies to your ChordMuse account on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and in the plugin.
- If we change a subscription's price, Apple will tell you before it applies, as its rules require.

---

## 6. Daily Limits and Fair Use

- AI limits are per ChordMuse account, shared across your devices, and reset at midnight UTC.
- Pro's limits are significantly higher than Plus's, and its full songs from the AI are unlimited within those limits. They exist to keep the service fast and available for everyone, and are set well above normal use.
- We may adjust limits to protect the service, for example against automated or abusive use. We won't reduce what a paid plan includes during a period you've already paid for.

---

## 7. The Plugin and Other Software

- The AUv3 plugin runs inside music apps made by other developers. Those apps are separate products, governed by their own terms. We don't control them and aren't responsible for how they behave.
- The App can play through other instrument apps installed on your device, and connect to USB and Bluetooth MIDI keyboards. Compatibility depends on your hardware, software and operating system, and isn't guaranteed.

---

## 8. Intellectual Property

- The App, including its code, design, branding and AI prompts, is owned by us or licensed to us.
- The bundled instruments use the GeneralUser GS SoundFont by S. Christian Collins, under its licence, which is included in the App.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the App itself.

---

## 9. Your Content and Backups

- Projects are stored on your device, and synced to your ChordMuse account while you're signed in.
- Please keep backups of important work. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss of content caused by device failure, uninstalling the App or deleting your account.

---

## 10. Disclaimer of Warranties

- The App is provided on an **"as is"** and **"as available"** basis, to the extent the law allows.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that the AI will always be available.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

---

## 11. Limitation of Liability

- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
  - Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  - Loss of data, projects, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the App.
- Where our liability can't be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

---

## 12. Termination

- You can stop using the App at any time, and delete your account in the App (Account → Delete account), as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription; cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms.

---

## 13. Changes to These Terms

- We may update these Terms from time to time, and will update the date at the top when we do.
- Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

---

## 14. Governing Law

- These Terms are governed by the laws of **New South Wales, Australia**, without regard to conflict of laws.
- Disputes will be handled in the courts of **NSW, Australia**.

---

## About ChordMuse

ChordMuse is a growing family of apps built for musicians who practise. Each one does a single job properly — writing, timing, learning and recording — and they all work offline, with no account needed to get started.
