This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using BeatCadenz, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. ## Information We Collect ### Information Stored Locally BeatCadenz stores the following data **locally on your device only**: - **Project Files**: Arrangements, loops, scenes, tempo settings and song configurations you create - **Audio Recordings**: Anything you record through your microphone, headset or a connected audio interface — instrument takes, vocal takes and amp recordings - **Samples and Imports**: Sounds you record or import into the Sampler, and backing tracks or audio files you import for editing or overdubbing - **Amp Rigs and Presets**: Saved amp chains, effect settings and instrument choices - **User Preferences**: App settings such as tempo, monitoring, MIDI mappings and display options - **Exports**: WAV, AAC and MIDI files you export, and project bundles you create for sharing - **Purchase Status**: Whether Full Unlock is owned, and the date your free trial started, so the right features stay open offline **Important:** This data is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, and we operate no servers or databases that hold user content. The one exception is the free trial record on Android, described under Trial and Purchases. ### Microphone and Audio Input BeatCadenz records audio so you can capture instruments and vocals into your projects. Recording only happens when you start it. - Audio is captured **only** while you are actively recording or monitoring, and only after you grant microphone permission - Recordings are written to your device's app storage and never uploaded by us - We do not listen to, analyse, process or transmit your recordings - You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings; recording features will stop working, and the rest of the app will continue to function ### Information We Do NOT Collect BeatCadenz does **not** collect, store, or transmit: - Personal identification information (name, email, phone number) - Location data - Device identifiers, other than for the free trial on Android (see Trial and Purchases) - Usage analytics or tracking data - Your audio recordings, samples, projects or exports - Contact information - Financial or payment information ## Trial and Purchases BeatCadenz is free to download. It offers a free 30-day trial and **Full Unlock**, a one-time in-app purchase (not a subscription). Both go through the **Apple App Store** or **Google Play**. Apple or Google processes the payment and holds your payment details; **we never receive your card or bank details**. - When you start the trial, buy Full Unlock or restore purchases, the App asks the store to do it. Your Apple Account or Google Account, the payment and the transaction are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. - The store tells the App which BeatCadenz items you own and when they were bought. The App keeps only this on your device: whether Full Unlock is owned, and the date your trial started. - We keep no record of your purchases. We do not receive your name, email, account, payment details or purchase history. - **On Android**, Google Play has no free trial for a one-time purchase, so we record the trial ourselves. When the App starts, it sends our server your device's Android ID (an identifier Android gives this App on your device) to check whether this device has had a trial; when you start the trial, the server records that ID with the trial's start date. We store only those two values, with the App's name, so that each device gets one trial and reinstalling the App doesn't restart it. We use them for nothing else, never combine them with other data, and never share or sell them. They are not linked to your name, email or Google Account. To ask us to delete your device's trial record, email support@chordmuse.app. - We use no third-party purchase, subscription or analytics services. ## Data Storage and Security All app data is stored locally on your device using standard iOS/Android storage mechanisms. We do not maintain any external servers or databases for user data, other than the Android free trial record described above. ### File Storage - Project files, recordings and samples are saved to your device's app storage - Exported audio files are saved where you choose to put them, or to your device's designated media folders - You have full control to delete any data created by the app ## Sharing Content You Choose to Share Some features send content **off your device, at your instruction and only when you ask**: - **Share and export** — sharing a recording, exported mix, MIDI loop or project bundle hands the file to your device's share sheet. Where it goes next (messages, email, cloud storage, another app) is your choice and is governed by that service's privacy policy, not ours. - **Project bundles** — a shared project (`.multibeatcadenz`) contains the project along with its media and samples. Anything you recorded or imported into it travels with it, so only share a project with people you intend to share that audio with. We do not receive a copy of anything you share. ## Connected Devices and Third-Party Plugins - **MIDI controllers** — BeatCadenz connects to USB, Bluetooth and network MIDI devices to receive notes and control messages. This is a local, real-time connection used to play and control the app. Bluetooth and local-network permissions are required by the operating system in order to discover wireless MIDI devices; we do not use them for location or advertising, and we do not collect the identity of your devices. - **Audio interfaces** — connected audio hardware is used only to capture and play audio. - **AUv3 plugins (iOS only)** — BeatCadenz can host third-party Audio Unit plugins you have installed. Those plugins are separate apps made by other developers and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and receive no data from them. ## Third-Party Services BeatCadenz uses only: - **Apple**: the App Store, for the trial, Full Unlock and restoring purchases (iPhone and iPad) - **Google**: Google Play, for Full Unlock and restoring purchases (Android) - **Our server**: the free trial record, on Android only (see Trial and Purchases) BeatCadenz does **not** integrate with: - Analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, etc.) - Advertising networks - Social media platforms - Cloud storage providers The app works offline. It connects only to the Apple App Store or Google Play, to show the Full Unlock price, start the trial, buy or restore purchases, and on Android to our server for the free trial record. ## Media Playback and Lock Screen Controls BeatCadenz shows your recordings and mixes in the system player so you can control playback from the lock screen, Control Centre or notification shade. The track title and artwork are passed to the operating system for display only, and are not sent to us or to any third party. ## Audio Content & Licensing BeatCadenz includes pre-composed drum patterns, MIDI grooves and high-quality audio samples for various musical genres. **Royalty-Free Content:** All music and audio created using BeatCadenz is **royalty-free**. You are free to use your exported audio in personal projects, commercial productions, videos, podcasts, games, and any other creative works without paying royalties or licensing fees. These audio assets are bundled with the app and do not involve any data collection. ## Children's Privacy BeatCadenz does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or any personal data to function. ## Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted. ## Your Rights Since BeatCadenz does not collect personal data: - There is no personal data to access, correct, or delete from our systems - You can delete individual recordings, samples and projects inside the app - You can delete all local app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings - **Purchases and refunds** are managed by Apple or Google. Full Unlock stays with your Apple Account or Google Account after you uninstall; use Restore purchases in the App to bring it back.
